#1 Bridgestone Tour B XS ($49.99 per dozen) – Best golf ball for seniors

Best Overall
Best Golf Balls for Seniors (2022)

Bridgestone Tour B XS

Bridgestone claims the new Tour B balls have more distance off the tee and more control on your approach shots, and our analysis proves that to be true. In various testing, the Bridgestone Tour B XS showed to consistently excel in distance for swing speeds of 85-100 mph with both the driver and irons, averaging as the third longest ball on the market at 284 yards (at 100 mph swing speed). Couple that with great feel on and around the greens, and the fact that Tiger Woods helped develop this ball, it takes our top spot for the best golf ball for seniors.
  • Spin around greens
  • low spin and good distance off the tee
  • Great feel
  • Expensive
  • Not the highest spinning ball on 50-yard wedge shots

#2 Titleist AVX ($50 per dozen) – Best for premium feel

Best Premium Feel
Best Golf Balls for Seniors (2022)

Titleist AVX

The Titleist AVX was developed as a ball that had a similar soft feel and greenside spin as the ProV1, but catered more to those of us who don’t swing our driver more than 100mph, with higher launch and longer distance at lower swing speeds. This ball is perfect for the senior who realizes they need a little extra help off the tee but won’t compromise on the feel of a premium Titleist ball.
  • Premium Feel
  • High Launch
  • Green-side spin
  • Expensive
  • Not very durable

#3 Callaway Chrome Soft X ($49.99) – Best for durability

Best for durability
Best Golf Balls for Seniors (2022)

Callaway Chrome Soft X

The Callaway Chrome Soft X was an overall well-performing ball for seniors with slightly higher swing speeds. Callaway made significant improvements in terms of consistency compared to the previous Chrome Soft models, the new ball also showed to be one of the highest spinning balls inside of 50 yard of all the balls we tested. In my opinion the Chrome Soft balls do not have the best feel, however, of all the balls on this list, they are absolutely the most durable.
  • High Spin inside 50 yards
  • Very durable
  • Don’t love the feel
  • Not as consistent on iron distances (come out hot)

#4 Vice Pro/ Pro Plus ($28.99)- Best value

Best Value

Vice Pro/Pro Plus

For a “budget” golf ball the Vice Pro models were surprisingly impressive in data metrics and feel. The Vice Pro was fifth longest ball we tested at 100mph driver swing speed, and the Pro Plus was the third longest ball at 85 mph swing speed. and both the Pro and Pro plus were in the top 5 for highest iron ball speeds. Both models produced some of the highest ball speed numbers we saw with driver and iron, and at almost half the retail price of the “major brands”, that sounds like a steal to me.
  • Produces high ball speeds
  • Great Price
  • Feels like a premium ball
  • High spin with driver

#5 Taylormade Tour Response ($39.99) – Best for consistent distance

Best for consistent distance
Best Golf Balls for Seniors (2022)

Taylormade Tour Response

The Tour Response is Taylormade’s response to Titleist’s AVX, and it doesn’t disappoint. The Taylormade Tour Reponse uses a 100% urethane cover, giving it the tour-like feel that you want, but most impressive was the distance numbers we saw. This ball consistently showed long carry numbers, coupled with low spin rates off the tee. That sounds like a winning formula for distance if you ask me. Coming in at $10 less per dozen than the Bridgestone, Callaway, and Titleist, I really like the Tour Response for seniors looking to add a little extra off the tee.
  • Consistently long across variety of swing speeds
  • Good valueS
  • Soft feel
  • Urethane cover is not very durable
  • Not as long as Bridgestone Tour B

Our Verdict

There are many different balls available and as a senior golfer, it is tough to choose which one is right for your game. Understanding the differences between golf balls and how they are made is crucial to picking the ball that suits your game the most. Not all of these golf balls will be ideal for every type of senior golfer, but for the vast majority of experienced senior golfers, this list provides you with the best balls for consistent spin into the green, and optimal distance from the tee.

We highly recommend you try a sleeve before buying a full dozen, but we are confident that these balls will surely improve your game and give you the edge on your competitors who use an inferior ball. We chose the Bridgestone Tour B XS golf ball as the best golf ball for seniors due to the fact that it has gone through extensive R&D with loads of input from Tiger Woods and it offers the longest driving distance for players with swing speeds between 85-100.
